Natural Health Centre Services

Our approach is to work with the whole person to find the root cause of the problems they are experiencing, and facilitate a release in the body, wherever this cause may turn out to lie.

Complete wellness is our goal, and the main tools we use to help bring about that goal are CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release®. We find these to be among the most effective ways of promoting the self-healing process.

Our aim is always to connect your consciousness with the issue at hand, and to assist in activating your own ability to acquire optimum health or to make the changes needed to move forward in life.

CranioSacral Therapy

is a gentle physical therapy that addresses the craniosacral system (the membranes that surround and subdivide the central nervous system) and the body's connective tissue. The therapist works with this connective tissue to explore restrictions that are affecting your health by preventing the full function of other systems. We commonly find that your symptoms do not directly relate to the part of the body where these restrictions actually are.

SomatoEmotional Release®

is the approach we use when the cause of illness lies "deeper" than the affected tissue - when there is an "issue in the tissue" like emotional trauma, when a forgotten event has established a pattern that has led to the illness, when the choices you make are affecting your quality of life, or when your beliefs are limiting you. In such situations we use the techniques of SomatoEmotional Release® in conjunction with CranioSacral Therapy to resolve the issue and restore optimal health.

What symptoms can be helped with or even resolved?

It would be impossible to offer an exhaustive list, but the many conditions we have successfully treated include pain syndromes, especially headaches, migraine and back pain; TMJ problems, myofascial problems like chronic fatigue, muscle tension and fibromyalgia; learning difficulties, autism and hyperactivity; spinal problems like scoliosis and lordosis, whiplash and herniated discs; emotional problems, anxiety and depression.

How long are the sessions and how many will I need?

Without seeing you, we cannot give any indication as to how many sessions it may take to improve the issue you come in with. We require that you fill in a health questionnaire and meet with one of our therapists to discuss your needs, and what we can offer, before you make your commitment to treatment. This initial consultation is free of charge.

We recommend 60 minute sessions for adults and 30 minute sessions for children and new-borns.

Multi-therapist sessions

A lot can be gained from a multi-therapist session, as there may be issues that involve more than one part of the body, and an extra pair of hands may help facilitate release. It also offers the opportunity of extra support for the patient in processing whatever emerges during the session.

Intensive treatment programmes

We offer these multi-therapist sessions as intensive treatments, by which we mean several consecutive sessions over a short period. Our most popular intensive programme involves three two-hour sessions in one week, with three or four therapists working simultaneously. These intensive treatments typically achieve significant acceleration in the healing process, and have often proved to be a turning point in the life of the person concerned.

We also offer intensive treatment weekends, where several people are treated at the same time in a larger room outside of our clinic. This produces a very strong, safe, healing energy that can help you move quickly in your process. In this format, one lead therapist is assigned to each patient, and several assisting therapists move between treatment tables as necessary and appropriate. These assistants are students of Upledger CranioSacral Therapy who are attending the event for educational purposes, with the aim of gaining more experience of multi-therapist sessions by working with highly qualified lead therapists. They are all professional practising therapists who wish to add CranioSacral techniques to their respective core therapies.

How much do these intensive treatments cost?

It varies. For the week-long course, we simply add the therapists' fees together, so the cost depends on the number of therapists and sessions. For the weekend course, there is a fixed fee of £750 that also covers refreshments and lunches on both days. We can put on week-long courses as required at short notice, but weekend courses need to be planned in advance and take place on fixed dates.

Who will benefit from such intensive treatment?

Basically anyone, but if you feel you are stuck in a process that conventional medicine has been unable to address, it might be particularly worth considering.
